The Marais Apartment is a large, open plan, air conditioned, one-bedroom apartment on the fifth floor of a 19th century building with a modern elevator in the heart of Paris. The apartment's entrance is at the far right in the floor plan above. There is a half-bath to the right of the entrance. The kitchen is conveniently separated from the living room by a high counter. A few stairs down lead to a wide corridor that is used as a study/library, and then to the bedroom and bathroom. The windows overlook an inner courtyard and the roofs of Paris; as the windows face three different directions, the apartment is flooded with light.

Despite its central location the apartment is divinely quiet. As it is on the top floor, it has no noisy upstairs neighbors; as it faces away from the local boulevards, it is protected from the noises of the street.
